The Short
Version
CMT Consulting helps foreigners live and work legally in Vietnam. Work permits, residence cards, company setup, and the practical stuff in between.
Why CMT
Exists
Six years of handling legal procedures taught me something uncomfortable about this industry.
Most firms benefit when you're confused. More questions mean more billable hours. Conflicting advice means you need "premium consultation." Complicated steps mean higher fees.
I watched clients pay three times what they should have. Not because the process was actually complex — but because nobody explained it simply.
CMT Consulting started from one belief: every procedure can be simplified, every process can be more transparent.
If that sounds obvious, ask yourself why most visa agents won't give you a fixed quote upfront.
What We Actually Do
Legal Procedures
- Work permits
- Temporary residence cards (TRC)
- Business visas and visa extensions
- Company registration and investment licenses
- Legal consulting for foreign-owned businesses
Life Logistics
- Airport fast-track through immigration
- Airport pickup
- Apartment search assistance
We bundle these because paperwork means nothing if you're stuck at the airport at midnight with no ride and nowhere to sleep.
What We Don't Do
Boundaries allow us to deliver excellence where it matters.
We won't book your restaurants or plan your weekend trips.
Government processing has its own schedule. We'll give you realistic estimates, not fantasies.
If something requires bending rules, we'll tell you it's risky and recommend the legal path.
How We Work
Differently
We quote before we start.
No "it depends" without specifics. You'll know the cost, timeline, and exactly what documents you need — before you commit.
We explain what we're doing.
You'll understand why each step exists, not just that it's "required."
We tell you when you don't need us.
Tourist visa for a short trip? Do it yourself. Your company has HR and legal? Let them handle it. We'd rather turn away work than take money for something you can do alone.
Who We Work With
Good fit
- Business owners setting up in Vietnam
- Expats whose companies don't handle permits
- Freelancers and remote workers figuring out long-term legal status
- Companies hiring foreign employees and need compliance support
Not a good fit
- Anyone looking for shortcuts that backfire later
- "Urgent" cases that require cutting corners
- Clients who need guarantees on timelines we can't control
- One-time tourist visas with simple requirements
Who I Am
I'm Rita Ngo — founder and the person you'll actually work with.
Six years in legal consulting. I've handled cases from 40+ nationalities. Work permits for tech companies, residence cards for retirees, company setups for solo founders, investment licenses for manufacturers.
The paperwork changes depending on the case. What doesn't change: I pick up when you call, I reply within hours not days, and I don't disappear after you've paid.
